Project Updates

August 4, 2012 marked the first year anniversary of the successful bone marrow transplant of former sickle cell client, Ariel Kelly.

Sickle cell anemia is an inherited form of anemia—a condition in which there aren’t enough healthy red blood cells to carry adequate oxygen throughout the body. Normally, the red blood cells are flexible and round, moving easily through the blood vessels.

Esince Management Services, LLC successfully hosted a Sickle Cell Awareness Luncheon in Chattanooga, TN, on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at The Mill of Chattanooga. A Genetic Counselor from Meharry Medical College's Sickle Cell Center provided public education and awareness about sickle cell disease.  Following the luncheon, Esince Management Services, LLC successfully hosted an "Evening of Praise" featuring Ruben Studdard, Season Two American Idol Winner, at Olivet Baptist Church.  Both events were a success.

While the events were a great start to bringing the awareness of sickle cell disease, the need for community involvement remained the next day.

Our efforts to brand the education and awareness of sickle cell disease continued on June 16, 2012 at Coolidge Park.  With the professional project management of Esince Management Services, the Chattanooga Scenic City Sickle Cell Corporation hosted an inaugural Sickle Cell Awareness CarnivalNews Channel 9 and Channel 3 were present.  We also had live feed on Brewer Media’s Power 94 (WJTT).  The Chattanooga Scenic City Sickle Cell Corporation provided entertainment and age-appropriate activities for the children attending the carnival.  We joined together in a Blood Donation and Bone Marrow Registration Drive and helped collect enough units of blood to give the gift of life to over 30 individuals in our community.  A great time was had by all.
